Authorizing the Director of Public Works to execute a $682,480.00 Design Professional Agreement with Hoefer Wysocki Architects, L.L.C. for remodeling of Fire Station No. 8 and 25; authorizing the City Manager to expend $682,480.00 for said agreement; and authorizing the Director of Finance to return unexpended appropriations to the appropriate account.

This ordinance would authorize construction of traffic signals and safety improvement in the following area: Independence Avenue and The Paseo. The federal government will fund their share of the project which is estimated to be $337,600.00.

Condemning and taking permanent and temporary easements on private properties for the improvement and maintenance of sanitary sewers in the vicinity of Leeds Road and Hunter Avenue, all in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri; providing for the payment of just compensation therefore; authorizing continued negotiations by the City of Kansas City; consenting to the filing of the petition for condemnation by the City Attorney, on behalf of the City; and authorizing the City Clerk to file this ordinance with the Recorder of Deeds in Jackson County, Missouri.

Ted Anderson, City Planning and Development Department, testified on behalf of this ordinance. This ordinance is pursuant to the provision of Chapter 523 of the State of Missouri Statue giving the City of Kansas City permission to use the permanent standard sewer easements as the location of the sanitary sewer improvements. Also the temporary easements shall be used by Kansas City or its authorized agents during the construction for grading, sloping removal and replacement of storage sheds, fencing, trees and shrubbery, sidewalks and driveways, utility construction work and the movement of the work force.

Authorizing the Director of Finance to accept the proposal of Koch Financial Corporation to finance the acquisition of Fleet Equipment to be used by the City Manager, in an approximate principal amount not to exceed $10,000,000.00; executing any and all documents and agreements necessary for the financing under a Master Lease Purchase Agreement; estimating and appropriating lease proceeds in accounts as specifically set forth in the ordinance; declaring the intent of the City to reimburse itself from the lease purchase proceeds for certain expenditures; authorizing the Director of Finance to close project accounts upon project completion; designating requisitioning authorities; and recognizing an emergency.
