RESOLUTION - Declaring the name of the inland Mexican customs facility to be built in the West Bottoms area to be the Kansas City Customs Port.


INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE recommends "IMMEDIATE ADOPTION"
Council woman Bonnie Sue Cooper, testified on behalf of this resolution. The resolution is now ready to be introduced to the community. The city owns the land. Smart Port will repay the city the $2,000,000 after the completion of the project. There will be jobs coming to the city because of the port. There will be office space because of the port being opened. Council woman Deb Hermann, asked what the cost would be to the residents? There is the cost for the residents, answered Councilwoman Cooper. Council woman Hermann, I am very pleased with this resolution coming for the citizens of the city.

 Jody Edgerton, International Affairs and Trade Office, will present "Discussion on the Proposed Grand Blvd. of the Americas". Jody Edgerton introduced Jim Matlof, who spoke regarding the presentation. Mr. Matlof gave a brief overview of who himself. Mr. Malof is asking the committee to approve to a resolution to get flags to be put on Grand Blvd. of the sister cities. This will help when I go back to the Parks Department to get things going. A copy of his presentation is on file in the City Clerk's Office. There may be general discussion of current International Committee issues.
