Brad Wolf, City Development, testified on behalf of this ordinance. This ordinance estimates and appropriates funds received from a grant from the Missouri State Historic Preservation Office. This grant is a pass through to the Missouri Archaeological Society (MAS) to perform archaeological field schools.

Tom Coyle, City Planning, testified on behalf of this ordinance. Patricia Jensen, White Goss Law Firm, was present to answer questions from the committee. This ordinance will authorize the execution of a Partial Release of Unsecured Deferral Agreement to release Lot 2, Shoppes at Shoal Creek (former Chicago Uno property at 152 and N. Flintlock) from the Agreement. This will also allow for the re-sale of the vacant building and occupancy for a new restaurant use.

This Ordinance estimates and appropriates funds received from a grant from the Missouri State Historic Preservation Office in the amount of $7,500.00 to expand the existing Simpson-Yeomans/Country Side National Register District. The Country Side Neighborhood Association will be providing a $4,000.00 cash match to meet the requirements of the grant. The total amount to be recognized in the budget is $11,500.00

RESOLUTION - Declaring the City Council’s intent to make Kansas City, Missouri a “No Idling Zone.”


PLANNING AND ZONING COMMITTEE recommends "IMMEDIATE ADOPTION"
Dennis Murphy, Environmental Officer, testified on behalf of this ordinance. Amanda Grayirck, MARC, was present to answer questions from the committee. The purpose of this resolution is to show the support from the council in reducing idling vehicles which will save money, avoid wasted fuel, reduce GHG emissions, reduce vehicular emissions that contribute to the formation of ground-level ozone, and improve public health and air quality in our neighborhoods and across the metro area. The handouts are on file in the City Clerk's Office.
