 1. Staff from the City Auditor's Office will present a Performance Audit: Preserve and Restore Park Ecology with Sustainable Maintenance Approach.
 Doug Jones, Jonathan Lecuyer and Terry Rynard, from Parks and Recreation gave an overview of the City Auditor's Parks Performance Audit. The audit focused on evaluating the Parks and Recreation Department's use of environmentally sustainable practices to manage and maintain parkland. The Division's maintenance activities include: the care of turf, grass, flowerbeds, brushes and trees. The divisions are divided between several maintenance districts of forestry operations, greenhouse and landscape operations and the conservation corps. Recommendations made were: reducing mowing, reducing or eliminating the use of inputs like water, fertilizers, and pesticides, incorporating sustainability into measureable goals, policies and plans to restore natural resources and to utilize existing plans, data and provide training.  2. Staff from Parks & Recreation Department will present the Park Safety & Security Plan.
 Terry Rynard from Parks and Recreation and Julie Steenson from the City Manager's Office gave in brief, recommendations for the safety and security in the city's public parks. Recommendations for city parks were: updating existing language of provisions of securing parks, developing a process plan when there are concerns mentioned of specific parks, develop a park ranger program to educate users on park rules and partnership with KCPD when needed, post park rules for all to see and follow, increase programs and activities with the neighboring communities and to enhance additional security cameras.  3. There may be a general discussion regarding current Neighborhoods and Public Safety issues.
 4. Pursuant to the following subsections of Section 610.021 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, there may be a closed session to discuss: (1) legal matters, litigation, or privileged communications with attorneys, pursuant to subsection 1; (2) real estate, pursuant to subsection 2; (3) personnel, pursuant to subsection 3 and 13; and/or (4) sealed bids or proposals, pursuant to subsection 12.
 The City Clerk`s Office now has equipment for the hearing impaired for use with every meeting. To check out the equipment please see the secretary for each committee. Be prepared to leave your Driver`s License or State issued Identification Card with the secretary and she will give you the equipment. Upon returning the equipment your license will be returned.
