Upon Roll Call the following members were present:

Accepting and approving a $16,000.00 grant award from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to provide funding for the Summer Food Service Program for Children.

Joe Williamson and Carolyn White from the Kansas City Health Department gave an overview for funding needed to assist with the State of Missouri to conduct sanitation inspections and re-inspections of local summer feeding stations thru out the metro Kansas City area. The contract provides reimbursement to the Health Department at a fixed rate of $125 per each initial inspection at a feeding site and a fixed rate of $75 per central kitchen and prep-kitchen. The Department will receive $80 for reinspections at a feeding site and $50 at central kitchen and prep-kitchen sites.

 1. The Kansas City Police Department will give an update on Social Worker's staffed at all Police Patrol Divisions.
 Captain Doug Niemeier from the Kansas City Police Department and Gina English, Social Worker Supervisor for the Kansas City Police Department gave a brief update of the social workers in the division. Ms. English testified that the program objectives for the social workers are to; motivate and build trust in the community, partnering with other organizations and agencies in the community, and reduce the number or habitual callers of 911. The purpose of the social workers are to connect the community with organizations in the metro area to implement support and acts of prevention, intervention and follow up efforts in connection with law enforcement.  2. A presentation by Dr. Mark T. Bedell, Superintendent for the Kansas City Public School District on KCPS Updates and Stakeholder Survey.
 Dr. Mark T. Bedell, Superintendent for the Kansas City Public School District gave a brief overview of the communities input of the area school system. Dr. Bedell states that Kansas City Public Schools are seeking feedback from students, parents, staff members and others with a stake in the city’s educational system. Key attributes are listening and learning from all stakeholders in order to assure that needs are being meet from a community standpoint. Insights and observations are needed about academics, programs, services, operations, facilities, finances, communications, public perception, safety and security in the school system.  3. There may be a general discussion regarding current Neighborhoods and Public Safety issues.
 4. Pursuant to the following subsections of Section 610.021 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, there may be a closed session to discuss: (1) legal matters, litigation, or privileged communications with attorneys, pursuant to subsection 1; (2) real estate, pursuant to subsection 2; (3) personnel, pursuant to subsection 3 and 13; and/or (4) sealed bids or proposals, pursuant to subsection 12.
 The City Clerk`s Office now has equipment for the hearing impaired for use with every meeting. To check out the equipment please see the secretary for each committee. Be prepared to leave your Driver`s License or State issued Identification Card with the secretary and she will give you the equipment. Upon returning the equipment your license will be returned.
