Amending Chapter 2, Code of Ordinances, by repealing Section 2-970.31, entitled “Establishment; membership; appointment of members,” and replacing it with a new section of like number and title for the purpose of allowing high school freshmen and sophomores to serve on the Kansas City Youth Commission.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS, DEBATE"
Chantell Garrett, Mayor's Office testified that this ordinance would change the grade level requirements to allow all eligible high school students to serve on the Kansas City Youth commission, versus only juniors and seniors.

 2. Cpt. Joe McHale will give a presentation on Teens in Transition.
 
 Major Joe McHale, KCPD, testified on the implementation and success of the the Teens in Transition program, in partnership with KCNova and Michael Toombs (Storytellers).
 
 3. Julie Holland will give a presentation on The Mobility Summit.
 
 Julie Holland, Education Advisor, Mayor's Office, gave a presentation on the Mobility Summit. The Summit was a Grad Nation collaboration with America's Promise, addressing the graduation rates of highly mobile children.
 
 4. There may be general discussion(s) on current Youth development Committee issues.
 
 5. Pursuant to the following subsections of Section 610.021 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, there may be a closed session to discuss: (1) legal matters, litigation, or privileged communications with attorneys, pursuant to subsection 1; (2) real estate, pursuant to subsection 2; (3) personnel, pursuant to subsection 3 and 13; and/or (4) sealed bids or proposals, pursuant to subsection 12. (5) confidential or privileged communications with auditors, pursuant to subsection 17.
 
 The City Clerk's Office now has equipment for the hearing impaired for use with every meeting. To check out the equipment please see the secretary for each committee. Be prepared to leave your Driver`s License or State issued Identification Card with the secretary and she will give you the equipment. Upon returning the equipment your license will be returned.
