Accepting and approving contract amendments with Good Samaritan Project in the amount of $325,000.00 and Truman Medical Center in the amount of $250,000.00 to provide medical case management services in the Kansas City area.

Frank Thompson, of the Health Department testified that the purpose of this agreement is to ensure that residents living with HIV/AIDS within the 11 counties, receive services according to the policies, and standards of practice outlined and published by the Health Resources and Services Administration and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. The HIV Services program provided HIV/AIDS care services for 2,478 unduplicated clients during the period from March 2015 to February 29, 2016. Case Management services are provided and coordinated by staff from three different agencies, Good Samaritan Project, Kansas City CARE Clinic, and Truman Medical Center. Services funded by the Ryan White Part B grant are monitored for quality, programatic and fiscal integrity by the Kansas City Missouri Health Department, HIV Services Program. Amending Chapters 50 and 53, Code of Ordinances, by repealing Section 50-103 relating to trespassing on golf courses and parks and enacting in lieu thereof one new section of like number and subject matter and by adding a new section to Chapter 53, Code of Ordinances, by adding a new Section 53-7 relating to parks; and containing a sunset provision.

 1. Staff from Cornerstones of Care will give an update on Community Engagement and Advocacy.
 
 Denise Cross, President of Cornerstone of Care gave a brief testimony of Community engagement and advocacy. Cornerstone of care is an entity that work to find safe, loving foster homes for children effected by child abuse or neglect in the home. Addressing the community's culture of violence, cornerstone helps to strengthen families by expanding programs that support parent, parenting classes and relationship education.  2. Staff from Neighborhood Preservation will give an update on Dangerous Buildings.
 
 Dalena Taylor and Deletta Dean, Dangerous Buildings, gave a brief update of the progress of dangerous building demolitions. An electronic file of this presentation can be found in the City Clerk's Office.
 
 3. Staff from Kansas City Fire Department will give an update on Response Times and EMS Collections.
 
 Tom Collins and Chuck Zang, Kansas City Fire Department, gave a brief update of the departments response times and medical billing collections for may 2017. An electronic file of this presentation can be found in the City Clerk's Office.
 
 4. There may be a general discussion regarding current Neighborhoods and Public Safety issues.
 
 5. Pursuant to the following subsections of Section 610.021 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, there may be a closed session to discuss: (1) legal matters, litigation, or privileged communications with attorneys, pursuant to subsection 1; (2) real estate, pursuant to subsection 2; (3) personnel, pursuant to subsection 3 and 13; and/or (4) sealed bids or proposals, pursuant to subsection 12.
