Upon Roll Call the following members were present:
 1. Staff from City Auditor’s Office and Neighborhoods & Housing Services Department will present an ARTS report for the Animal Health and Public Safety: Community Vision and Improved Management Oversight Needed audit.
 Douglas Jones, City Auditors Office, presented an Audit Report Tracking System (ARTS) for August 2017 after a resolution was passed, 160680, which directed the City Auditor to conduct an audit of the City's Animal Health and Public Safety Division. Doug stated that the focus on animal health and public safety has implemented processes and provided training with recommended practices. Animal control receives approximately 16,000 calls for service annually. The calls are in response to: owned animals running at large, stray animals, neglect and cruelty of animals, injured animal, wildlife in homes and animal bites. Doug also states that the recommendations to improve the Animal Health and Public Safety Division's would be: to improve the working relationship between Animal Health and Public Safety and KC Pet Project, establish a process for stakeholders to develop the city's vision for animal care and control, remediating animal code violations and documenting investigations consistently, analyzing performance data to provide accountability and provide ongoing training. Deletta Dean from Neighborhood and Housing services and Patrick Egberuare, from Animal Health and Public Safety also provided a summary and addressed the council of the implemented processes and recommendations of the departments progress. An electronic version of the City Auditor's Report and a summary report from Animal Health and Public Safety can be obtained from the City Clerk's Office.
 2. There may be a general discussion regarding current Neighborhoods and Public Safety issues.
 3. Pursuant to the following subsections of Section 610.021 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, there may be a closed session to discuss: (1) legal matters, litigation, or privileged communications with attorneys, pursuant to subsection 1; (2) real estate, pursuant to subsection 2; (3) personnel, pursuant to subsection 3 and 13; and/or (4) sealed bids or proposals, pursuant to subsection 12.
 The City Clerk`s Office now has equipment for the hearing impaired for use with every meeting. To check out the equipment please see the secretary for each committee. Be prepared to leave your Driver`s License or State issued Identification Card with the secretary and she will give you the equipment. Upon returning the equipment your license will be returned.
