NEIGHBORHOODS AND PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS, DEBATE"
Quiana Jackson from the Kansas City Health Department gave a brief summary of the Building Blocks Home Visiting Program. The nurse home visiting program is a free program designed for high risk and low income first time mothers to be connected to a registered nurse who will provide the support, advice and information for a healthy pregnancy and continues throughout the first two years of the child's life. The goal is to improve pregnancy outcomes, the child's development and economic self sufficiency. Funding will allow the Nursing Family Partnership (NFP Program) along with the Building Blocks Program to continue assisting first time mothers in the Metro area. For further information, or to enroll please call 816.679.0915 or on the web at: www.nursefamilypartnership.org.
