The space consists of 27,200 square feet on four (4) above-ground floors and approximately 4,800 square feet in the basement. The building has been vacant for more than 20 years and has fallen into significant disrepair. Rehabilitation of this structure will remove a blighted property from downtown Kansas City and provide office space for a growing professional services organization with a national client base. The remediation tax credits approved by this resolution will pay for environmental cleanup of the subject property consisting of the abatement of lead-based paint and asbestos-containing materials (ACM). Applicant projects that the clean up and redevelopment of these properties will result in the creation of 20 new jobs, eliminate blight, add to the cultural assets of the community and result in a total project investment of approximately $5,500,000.00.
