The proposed improvements will lead to the installation of new utilities in the Entertainment District to support the new development as well as the existing downtown infrastructure. The new systems will also separate the stormwater and sewer flows. Project Description This project consists of the detailed design of the City utilities in the KC Live Entertainment District. The new utilities that will be installed are water, storm sewer, and sanitary sewer systems. This contract includes surveying services to locate all existing utilities as they are uncovered when the new utilities are installed. When the work is completed the City will have as built drawings detailing all the underground utilities in the streets. Ordinance No. 050123, Amending Ordinance No. 050033, passed January 13, 2005 by repealing and reenacting Section 2. Section 2 that the City Manager is hereby authorized to expend the sum of $944,000.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account No. AL 3310-647229-B for aforesaid contract and contingencies. Yes <0$  H$ `M $   D[  @Text 3;d2U][! 0<Project Justification This ordinance authorizes the Capital Improvement Management Office to enter into an Amendment to a Design Professional Services contract with Black & Veatch Corporation to perform additional services related to the detailed utility design for the KC Live Entertainment District. The proposed improvements will lead to the installation of new utilities in the Entertainment District to support the new development as well as the existing downtown infrastructure. The new systems will also separate the stormwater and sewer flows. Project Description This Amendment will increase the contract amount to account to pay for numberous utilities that have been redesigned due to unforeseen obstructions, developer changes, and value engineering. The increase in the contract will also allow surveying services of existing and new utilities to continue throughout the KC Live district.
