ORDINANCE NO. 080858

 

Reducing the Contingent Appropriation in the General Fund by $800,000, appropriating $800,000 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund to the Solid Waste Apartment Rebate program, designating requisitioning authority, and recognizing an emergency.

 

Whereas, the City desires to fund the apartment rebate program through October 31, 2008 in the manner provided by Sections 62-42 through 62-44, Code of Ordinances; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the appropriation in the following account of the General Fund is reduced in the following amount:

 

09-1000-179990B Contingent Appropriation $800,000.00

 

Section 2. That $800,000.00 is appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund to the following account in the General Fund:

 

09-1000-892322B Apartment Rebate Program $800,000.00

 

Section 3. That the Director of Public Works is given requisitioning authority for Account No. 1000-892322.

 

Section 4. That this ordinance is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Section 503 of the City Charter in that it appropriates money, and shall take effect in accordance with that section.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
