ORDINANCE NO. 110478

 

Reappropriating $38,489.01 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Fire Sales Tax Fund for the USFA AFG Grant from the United States Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program; designating requisitioning authority; and recognizing an emergency.

 

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 100638 authorized the Fire Chief to accept a grant from the United States Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program in the amount of $68,922.00 for a fire safety outreach program to be conducted in conjunction with the Housing Authority of Kansas City; and

 

WHEREAS, the Fire Department has received $68,922.00 from the United States Department of Homeland Security for the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the sum of $38,489.01 is appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Fire Sales Tax Fund to the following accounts:

 

12-2300-235006-A USFA AFG Grant $38,489.01

 

Section 2. That the Fire Chief is designated as requisitioning authority for Account No. 12-2300-235006.

 

Section 3. That this ordinance is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Section 503 of the City Charter in that it appropriates money and shall take effect in accordance with that section.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
