RESOLUTION NO. 120627
Recognizing
the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department, the Kansas City, Missouri Fire
Department and emergency services personnel for the outstanding job they have
done for security and safety during the All Star game events throughout the
City of Kansas City.
WHEREAS, Kansas City, Missouri has not hosted an All Star game since the early
70’s and many changes have been made to Kansas City and the All Star game week
ceremonies; and
WHEREAS, our Police Department, Fire Department and emergency services
personnel have done a splendid job in providing security for all of the
approximately 150,000 visitors to the metropolitan area as well as additional
safety for our residents; and
WHEREAS, all personnel have also been extremely proactive and helpful to our
out-of-town guests by providing information, directions, and assistance as
needed in addition to their normal duties and doing so in a very friendly and
approachable manner; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby recognize the Kansas City, Missouri Police
Department, the Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department and emergency services
personnel for the outstanding job they have done for security and safety during
the All Star game events in 2012 and the positive impact this has had for
Kansas City for the rest of the nation; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the
Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to the Police,
Fire, and Emergency Services Departments with the appreciation of the Mayor,
Council and citizens of Kansas City for the exceptional service and leadership
provided during the All Star game events.
