ORDINANCE NO. 051276

 

Directing the City Clerk to prepare an assessment roll; fix a date for a hearing, publish notice of the hearing, and mail notice to all property owners regarding the 300 Wyandotte Project.

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to the authority of Sections 67.453 to 67.475 inclusive, RSMo, titled the Neighborhood Improvement District Act (the Act), the City Council of Kansas City, Missouri has determined the 300 Wyandotte Project (the Project) to be advisable; and,

 

WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the Project have been prepared and have been submitted to the Council; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the plans and specifications for the 300 Wyandotte Project have been prepared, including an estimated cost of $1,250,000.00 and will be kept on file in the office of the City Clerk and will be open for public inspection.

 

Section 2. That all of the Project costs will be assessed against the owners of property within the District.

 

Section 3. That the City Clerk is ordered and instructed to:

a.                   Prepare an assessment roll for the Project based on the estimated cost of the Project to be assessed against property owners, the period of assessment and the method of assessment described in the Ordinance of the City finding the project to be advisable;

 

b.                  Fix a date for a hearing to be held by the Council on the Project and the proposed assessment;

 

c.                   Publish notice of such hearing in compliance with the Act, not more than twenty (20) days and not less than ten (10) days before the hearing date; and

 

d.                  Mail notice of such hearing to each owner of record of property within the District pursuant to the Act.
