ORDINANCE NO. 120270

 

Authorizing the Director of Public Works to execute a Cooperative Agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission (MHTC) necessary to place red light cameras on state owned intersections.

 

WHEREAS, Ordinance 080402 approved a contract with American Traffic Solutions (ATS) to place red light cameras in 30 locations, including Kansas City owned and state owned intersections; and

 

WHEREAS, Ordinance 080402 also approved the initial contract with MHTC to put red light cameras on state owned intersections within Kansas City city limits; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of the City, an agreement with MHTC for the purpose of allowing the City to cause ATS to install and operate the red light cameras in state owned right-of-way. A copy of the agreement is on file in the Public Works Department.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
