RESOLUTION NO. 190465

 

Amending the Heart of the City Area Plan by changing the recommended land use on about 3 acres in an area generally bordered by E. Linwood Boulevard on the north, E. 33rd Street on the south, Michigan Avenue on the east and Woodland Avenue on the west, from low-density residential to medium-high density residential. (CD-CPC-2019-00054)

 

WHEREAS, the Council adopted the Heart of the City Area Plan through Resolution No. 110159, as amended, on April 21, 2011, which Plan established guidelines and standards for future development and redevelopment of the plan area; and

 

WHEREAS, after further review, it has been deemed appropriate to amend the Heart of the City Area Plan and Map as it affects a 3-acre tract of land, generally bordered by E. Linwood Boulevard on the north, E. 33rd Street on the south, Michigan Avenue on the east and Woodland Avenue on the west, by changing the recommended land use from low-density residential to medium-high density residential; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission considered such amendment to the Proposed Land Use Plan and Map on April 16, 2019; and

 

WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did on April 16, 2019, recommend approval of the proposed amendment to the Heart of the City Area Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That the Heart of the City Area Plan is hereby amended as to the Proposed Land Use Plan and Map for an approximately 3-acre tract of land, generally bordered by E. Linwood Boulevard on the north, E. 33rd Street on the south, Michigan Avenue on the east and Woodland Avenue on the west, by changing the recommended land use from low-density residential to medium-high density residential.

 

Section B. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed amendment hereinabove, all public notices and hearings required by the Zoning Ordinance have been given and had.
