RESOLUTION NO. 191001

 

Ratifying the appointment and compensation of Earnest Rouse as Acting City Manager of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, from December 3, 2019 until the next City Manager takes the oath of office, subject to renewal by City Council every 90 days during the service of the Acting City Manager.

 

WHEREAS, City Manager Troy Schulte resigned from City service, effective December 2, 2019; and

 

WHEREAS, City Charter Section 218(f) provides that in the event the City Manager resigns, the Mayor shall designate a qualified person to temporarily perform the duties of the office with the appropriate compensation, subject to ratification by a vote of at least six additional councilmembers; and

 

WHEREAS, Mayor Quinton Lucas has designated Earnest Rouse to serve as Acting City Manager at an annual salary of $198,000.00, payable in installments at the same times other City employees are paid, until the next City Manager takes the oath of office, subject to renewal by City Council every 90 days during the service of the Acting City Manager; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Council hereby ratifies the designation of Earnest Rouse to serve as Acting City Manager at an annual salary of $198,000.00, payable in installments at the same times other City employees are paid, until the next City Manager takes the oath of office and subject to renewal by City Council every 90 days during the service of the Acting City Manager.
