ORDINANCE NO. 180567

 

Accepting and approving a one year $268,418.00 contract with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to provide funding for the Building Blocks Home Visiting program that promotes a healthy and safe parenting and home environment.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That a contract between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health, and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, whereby the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services will provide funding to the Building Blocks of Missouri program which promotes improved outcomes in pregnancy and child health through the development of better women’s health practices, responsible and competent care for their children, and family counseling for the period beginning October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2019, for an amount not to exceed $268,418.00, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the contract, in substantial form, is on file with the Director of Health.

 

Section 2. That the Director of Health is hereby authorized to expend the sum of $156,577.00, from funds appropriated to Account No. 19-2480-505017-G50501719 for the aforesaid contract.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
