RESOLUTION NO. 041424

 

Recognizing the Troost Corridor Action Plan, as the Southtown Councils guide for the future development redevelopment for that part of Kansas City, Missouri, that is generally bounded by Volker Boulevard to the north, Meyer Boulevard to the south, The Paseo Boulevard to the east and Oak Street to the west.

 

WHEREAS, the City Development Department has worked with the Southtown Council on a study delineating the characteristics of the Troost Corridor Action Plan study area; and

 

WHEREAS, said study provides a guide for future development and redevelopment of the area, for specific and general policies to guide future decisions, and for identification of public and private needs throughout the community and possible solutions to those needs; and

 

WHEREAS, public notice of the hearing on the Troost Corridor Action Plan before the City Plan Commission was published on October 4, 2004; and

 

WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to prevent testimony, the City Plan Commission considered and recommended approval of the Troost Corridor Action Plan on October 19, 2004; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That the Troost Corridor Action Plan is hereby recognized as the Southtown Councils guide for the future development and redevelopment for that area generally bounded by Volker Boulevard to the north, Meyer Boulevard to the south, The Paseo Boulevard to the east and Oak Street to the west. A copy of the Troost Corridor Action Plan is attached hereto, in substantial form, and is hereby approved.

 

Section B. That the Council commends the Southtown Council for its hard work on the Troost Corridor Action Plan and its dedication to bettering the quality of life for the residents of Kansas City.
