RESOLUTION NO. 061085
Directing the City Manager to
identify unneeded or unencumbered capital improvement tax or other funds and
then cause an ordinance to be introduced by which such funds would be
appropriated to the Citywide PIAC account.
WHEREAS, the Council
passed Second Committee Substitute for Ordinance No. 060990 on September 21, 2006, whereby it appropriated $4,293,040.00 from the Unappropriated Fund
Balance of the Capital Improvements Sates Tax Fund to fund construction and
reconstruction of a portion of Shoal Creek Parkway, Searcy Creek Parkway and
Pleasant Valley Road, along with related infrastructure, for the purpose of
facilitating the construction of the Kansas City Police Academy; and
WHEREAS, Second
Committee Substitute for Ordinance No. 060990 also directed the Public
Improvement Advisory Committee (PIAC) to include an allocation of $4,293,040.00
in the FY 2007-08 Capital Improvements Sales Tax Citywide Program to repay this
appropriation; and
WHERAS, the
Council recognizes the need to identify additional funds for other capital
improvement projects throughout the City; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED
BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Council
hereby directs the City Manager to identify unneeded or unencumbered capital
improvement tax or other funds that can be used or redirected to fund other
capital improvement projects and then cause an ordinance to be introduced by
which such funds would be appropriated to the Capital Improvements Sales Tax
Citywide Program.
