ORDINANCE NO. 160783

 

Accepting and approving a grant to the City for $123,487.00 from the United States Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program under its Fire Prevention and Safety (FPS) component; estimating revenue in the amount of $123,487.00 in the Fire Sales Tax Fund; appropriating it to the USFA AFG/FPS Grant account in the Fire Sales Tax Fund; designating requisitioning authority; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Fire Chief is hereby authorized to accept a grant from the United States Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant/Fire Prevention and Safety (AFG/FPS) program in the amount of $123,487.00 for acquisition of equipment, supplies, programs, and materials relating to fire safety and prevention programming. The City match is $6,174.00 from existing appropriations.

 

Section. 2. That revenue in the following account of the Fire Sales Tax Fund is hereby estimated in the following amount for FY 2016-2017:

 

17-2300-230001-478399-G23AFG15 USFA AFG/FPS Grant $123,487.00

 

Section 3. That the sum of $123,487.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Fire Sales Tax Fund to the following accounts in the Fire Sales Tax Fund:

 

17-2300-235006-634950-G23AFG15 USFA AFG/FPS Grant $ 9,062.00

17-2300-235006-623360-G23AFG15 USFA AFG/FPS Grant 111,825.00

17-2300-235006-619080-G23AFG15 USFA AFG/FPS Grant 2,600.00

TOTAL $123,487.00

Section 4. That the Fire Chief is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for Account No. 17-2300-235006.

 

Section 5. That this ordinance, appropriating money, is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(C) of the City Charter and shall take effect in accordance with Section 503, City Charter.
