ORDINANCE NO. 080978

 

Authorizing a one-year $703,429.00 contract amendment with SAVE, Inc., to provide additional housing assistance for low-income persons living with HIV/AIDS and declaring an emergency.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That a contract amendment between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health, and SAVE, Inc., acting through its Executive Director, whereby SAVE will provide additional housing assistance for low-income residents living with HIV/AIDS in Kansas Citys Eligible Metropolitan Area (EMA) for the period of July 1, 2007 through April 30, 2009, for an amount not to exceed $703,429.00 for a total contract amount of $1,614,069.00 to be paid from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 09-2740-505004-B is hereby authorized. A copy of the amendment, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 2. That this ordinance is declared an emergency measure within the provisions of Section 503 of the Charter of Kansas City in that it relates to the immediate preservation of the public health, and shall take effect in accordance with that section.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
