COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 190566

 

Amending Chapter 88, Zoning and Development Code, through revisions, clarifications, and other administrative changes throughout the chapter in accordance with the Zoning and Development Code periodic review. (CD-CPC-2019-00078)

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That Sections 88-369-02-B. Self-Storage Warehouse, Standards, In District B4; and 88-805-04-G. Commercial Use Group, Communications Service Establishments are hereby repealed and new sections of like number and title are hereby enacted, with said new sections to read as follows:

 

88-369-02-B. IN DISTRICT B4

1.  Fencing shall not include any barbed wire and razor wire.

 

2. Up to 25 percent of the site may be used for the outdoor storage of operational recreational vehicles, commercial vehicles, and watercraft. Such storage areas shall not be located directly adjacent to any public right-of-way or any R or DR district. Such storage areas shall be screened in accordance with 88-425-09.

 

88-805-04-G. COMMUNICATIONS SERVICE ESTABLISHMENTS

Broadcasting and other information relay services accomplished through use of electronic and telephonic mechanisms. Excludes services classified as "major utilities and services" and "Minor Utilities." Typical uses include recording studios, television and radio studios, telecommunication service centers, data centers, and telegraph service offices.

 

Section B. That a new Section 88-620-B.3. (Applications to the City Plan Commission, the Board of Zoning Adjustment, and Administrative Approvals; Administrative Fees) e. Short Term Rental is hereby enacted, with said new section to read as follows:

 

 88-620-B.3. Applications to the City Plan Commission, the Board of Zoning Adjustment, and Administrative Approvals; Administrative Fees

e.       Short Term Rental:

1.    Administrative approval: $271.00

 

2.    Special Use Permit: $623.00

 

3.    First year registration: $288.00 (if administrative approval or special use permit not required, as those fees include first year registration)

 

4.    Annual renewal of registration: $183.00

 

Section C. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed amendments to Chapter 88 hereinabove, all public notices have been given and hearings have been held as required by law.
