COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 060037

 

Authorizing the City Manager to execute a memorandum of understanding with East Village, LLC and J.E. Dunn Construction Company, Inc. setting forth the intent of the parties with regard to the proposed East Village Project located in the eastern portion of the downtown loop.

 

WHEREAS, East Village, LLC (East Village) has proposed to develop a project (the Project) consisting of the redevelopment of a unique urban community with diverse housing and mixed use opportunities as well as office and retail components, including a headquarters for J.E. Dunn Construction Company, Inc. (J.E. Dunn), all of which shall be located in the eastern portion of the downtown Kansas City, Missouri loop (the East Loop); and

 

WHEREAS, the City, East Village and J.E. Dunn desire to execute a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding to set forth intentions and understandings of each respective party in connection with the proposed Project; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the City Manager is authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City, the Memorandum of Understanding with East Village and J.E. Dunn setting forth the intentions and understandings of the parties in connection with the Project and the redevelopment of the East Loop in such form as deemed acceptable by the City Manager.
