ORDINANCE NO. 180951

 

Authorizing the acceptance of an $83,675.00 Fair Housing Assistance Program Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the purpose of investigating previous discrimination complaints in housing as well as education and outreach regarding impediments to fair housing; and estimating and appropriating $83,675.00 in the Neighborhoods Grants Fund.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Human Relations Department Director is hereby authorized to accept a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), acting through its Director, in the amount of $83,675.00, whereby HUD will provide funding for previous cases, also to conduct fair housing enhanced efforts for education and outreach regarding the impediments to fair housing to persons residing in the geographic area served by the Human Relations Department, as well as education and outreach to persons and entities subject to the City’s fair housing laws.

 

Section 2. That the revenue in the following account of the Neighborhoods Grants Fund is hereby estimated in the following amount:

 

19-2580-540001-479160-G54FHAP18 Fair Housing Grant 18 $83,675.00

 

Section 3. That the sum of $83,675.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance in the Neighborhoods Grants Fund to the following account in the Neighborhoods Grants Fund:

 

19-2580-545200-B-G54FHAP18 Fair Housing Grant 18 $80,000.00

19-2580-545200-C-G54FHAP18 Fair Housing Grant 18 3,675.00

TOTAL $83,675,00

 

Section 4. That the Director of Human Relations is designated as requisitioning authority for Account No. 19-2580-545200.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
