RESOLUTION NO. 041400

 

Authorizing the City Manager to execute a non-binding letter of intent between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and CenterPoint Realty Services Corporation.

 

 

WHEREAS, the City Council has expressed its intent to support the redevelopment of the former Richards-Gebaur Airport; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council has expressed its intent that the Port Authority of Kansas City serve as the Citys agent to pursue the redevelopment of the Richards-Gebaur property; and

 

WHEREAS, the Port Authority has completed a competitive selection process for a private master development team and from that process has selected the CenterPoint Realty Services Corporation of Chicago, IL, to head the redevelopment team; and

 

WHEREAS, the City and the Port Authority are now ready to enter into negotiations with the CenterPoint team to develop a cooperative agreement outlining the roles and responsibilities of the various parties as well as establishing various financial terms governing the redevelopment; NOW THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a non-binding Letter of Intent with the CenterPoint Realty Services Corporation which is approved in substantial form as that on file in the office of the City Manager.
