ORDINANCE NO. 941528

Approving and accepting an agreement with the Kansas City Free Health Clinic whereby it will provide assistance services to agencies working with persons with HIV for one year beginning November 1, 1994, for which the City will provide $28,000.00 in previously appropriated funds, and recognizing an emergency.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That an agreement between the Kansas City, Missouri Health Department, acting through the Director of Health, and the Kansas City Free Health Clinic, acting through its Executive Director, whereby the Clinic will provide technical assistance and capacity building services to agencies involved in providing information to HIV+ persons, for a period of one year beginning November 1, 1994, for which the City will provide $28,000.00 in funds previously appropriated to Account No. 95-273- 050-2445-B by Ordinance No. 940558, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of said agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Section 2. That this ordinance, making provisions for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of the public health, is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
