ORDINANCE NO. 120738

 

Authorizing a $500,000.00 legal services contract with Seigfreid, Bingham, Levy, Selzer & Gee, PC; appropriating $500,000.00 to the Legal Services account in the KC Airports Fund; and recognizing an emergency. 

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1.  That the City Attorney is hereby authorized to execute a legal services agreement with Seigfreid, Bingham, Levy, Selzer & Gee, PC, in the amount of $500,000.00 for representation of the City in BBA U.S. Holdings, et al. v. City of Kansas City, Missouri, filed in the Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri from funds appropriated herein.  A copy of the agreement is on file in the City Clerk’s Office.

 

Section 2.  That the sum of $500,000.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of Fund 8300, KC Airports Fund, to the following account in the KC Airports Fund:

 

13-8300-622100-B-610240 Legal Services    $500,000.00

 

Section 3.  That this ordinance is recognized as an emergency ordinance under City Charter Section 501(a)3(c) in that it appropriates money, and shall take effect in accordance with that section.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
