COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR RESOLUTION NO. 191025, AS AMENDED

 

Directing the Acting City Manager to engage in a process to develop a system to track the performance of tax and other economic incentives; determine economic development priorities for each respective Council District; and to report back to the City Council within 120 days.

 

WHEREAS, performance data, council priorities, and coordination of taxpayer funds will provide strategic direction to the Council when it is considering economic development incentives; and

 

WHEREAS, an economic development activity should align with the City Council’s priorities identified in the Citywide Business Plan and ensure that the Council’s development priorities are identified; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Acting City Manager is directed to develop a plan for a system to track the performance of tax and other economic incentives that captures both qualitative and quantitative data.

 

Section 2. That the Acting City Manager is directed to request a meeting with each individual Councilmember to discuss and determine each Councilmember’s economic development priorities for their respective Council District, as well as city-wide priorities.

 

Section 3. That the Acting City Manager is directed to report back to the City Council within 120 days of passage of this resolution as to a plan for its implementation.
