RESOLUTION NO. 041382

 

Consenting to the transfer by Land Trust of certain properties in the urban core for redevelopment.

 

WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City strongly supports the construction and rehabilitation of residential properties as well as the implementation of other strategies to curb blight within the urban core; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City has undertaken and supports various projects to upgrade the urban core and improve its neighborhoods and commercial districts in the urban core; and

 

WHEREAS, the projects referred to in the body of the ordinance are determined to be of value to the City and likely to combat the occurrence of blight in the urban core; and

 

WHEREAS, Land Trust of Jackson County can only convey property for less than two-thirds of appraised value with the consent of two of the following; Jackson County, Kansas City School District or City of Kansas City, Missouri; NOW THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the City of Kansas City hereby consents to the transfer without consideration by Land Trust of Jackson County, Missouri, of the below listed property to the entities identified and for the purposes shown.
