ORDINANCE NO. 970218

 

Reducing appropriations in various Grand Boulevard accounts of the Capital Improvements Fund by the sum of $100,000.00 and appropriating said sum to the Second District Dangerous Building account of the Capital Improvements Fund.

 

WHEREAS, the Monroe Hotel located at 1904 Main Street has been deemed to be a dangerous building under the codes and regulations of the City; and

 

WHEREAS, the City desires to demolish the building and eliminate its blighting influence on Main Street; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the appropriation in the following account of the Capital Improvements Fund is hereby reduced as follows:

 

97-309-064-7000 Grand Boulevard Development $ 50,000.00

 

Section 2. That the appropriation in the following account of the Capital Improvements Fund is hereby reduced as follows:

 

97-309-064-6202 Grand Avenue Streetscape, 2nd District $ 50,000.00

 

Section 3. That the sum of $100,000.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Capital Improvements Fund to the following account in the Capital Improvements Fund:

 

97-309-057-6201 Second District Dangerous Building Fund $100,000.00

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
