ORDINANCE NO. 050587

Authorizing $1,070,000.00 a Design Services Agreement with HNTB Corporation to provide design services for streets in the KC Live Entertainment District; and authorizing the City Manager to expend $1,140,000.00 for the project.

WHEREAS, the City entered into a Master Development Agreement with Kansas City Live, LLC, for redevelopment of the SOLO district in downtown Kansas City;

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the City Manager is authorized to enter into and execute on behalf of the City a contract with HNTB Corporation for street design in the KC Live Entertainment District. A copy of the agreement, in substantial form, is attached hereto and is hereby approved.

Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to expend the sum of $1,140,000.00, including contingency, from funds previously appropriated to Account No. AL-3300-647232-B for the aforesaid contract.

Section 3. That a quarter of a percent (0.25%) of the estimated contract amendment amount has been previously appropriated to the Youth Employment Fund No. 2440.

Section 4. That the City Manager is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for account AL-3300-647232.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
