ORDINANCE NO. 001533
a contract with Insituform Technologies USA Inc. for Contract No. 745 emergency
repair of the combined sewer in Indiana Avenue at East 61st Street; authorizing
expenditure of $421,644.00; appropriating $1,052.00 to the Youth Employment
Fund; and declaring an emergency.
422 linear feet of 48-inch diameter segmented clay tile combined sewer pipe located
in Indiana Avenue at East 61st Street failed; and
the condition presents an immediate threat to public heath and safety; NOW,
IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
1. That a $420,592.00 contract between Kansas City, Missouri, through its
Director of Water Services and Insituform Technologies USA Inc. for the
emergency repair of a combined sewer located in Indiana Avenue at East 61st
Street is hereby approved and confirmed. A copy of the contract is on file in
the office of the Director of Water Services.
2. That the Director of Water Services is hereby authorized to expend up to
the sum of $420,592.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account No.
01-811-080-7726-T Sewer Construction to satisfy the cost of this contract.
3. That the appropriation in the following account of the Sewer Fund is hereby
reduced by the sum of $1,052.00:
4. That the sum of $1,052.00 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated
fund balance of the Sewer Fund to the following account, representing one
quarter of one percent of the estimated cost of this project for the Youth
Employment Fund expenditures in accordance with Resolution No. 941474:
to Youth Employment Fund $1,052.00
5. This ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure within the provisions
of Section 15, Article II of the Charter of Kansas City because it is for the
immediate preservation of public property, health and safety and shall take
effect in accordance with that section.

of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a
cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the
fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation
as to form and legality:
