ORDINANCE NO. 080492
Approving a $38,631.00 Amendment
No. 2 with Black and Veatch Corporation for Contract No. 8255, Raw Water Supply
Piping, Valve, and Electrical Improvements at the Water Treatment Plant;
authorizing the Director of Water Services to expend $38,631.00 for this
amendment; and authorizing the Director of Finance to return unexpended
appropriations to the appropriate account.
WHEREAS, the
City approved Ordinance No. 061378 in January 2007 for a $299,353.00 contract
with Black and Veatch Corporation for the Raw Water Supply Piping, Valve, and
Electrical Improvements at the Water Treatment Plant project; and
WHEREAS, the
City approved a $19,225.00 Amendment No. 1 for additional design work on this
project; and
WHEREAS
Amendment No. 2 is needed for additional engineering services to design an
access bridge spanning from the existing intake access bridge to the proposed
north electrical platform and to design a well field flow meter panel at the
proposed south electrical platform; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED
BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That
the Director of Water Services is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of Kansas City, a $38,631.00 Amendment No. 2 to Contract No. 8255, Raw Water Supply Piping,
Valve, and Electrical Improvements at the Water Treatment Plant from funds
previously appropriated in Account No.
AL-8067-807203-B, Water Treatment Plant Improv. A copy of this amendment is on
file in the office of the Director of Water Services.
Section 2. That
upon completion of this contract, the Director of Finance is hereby authorized
to return the unexpended portion of this appropriation to the Unappropriated
Fund Balance from which it was derived.

I hereby certify
that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the
appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash
balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund
from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby
incurred.
