ORDINANCE NO. 041067

 

Authorizing a $35,000.00 Amendment 3 with Black and Veatch Corporation, for Contract No. 7704, Platte County Water Transmission Main; and appropriating funding therefore.

 

WHEREAS, the City approved Ordinance No. 011319 in October 2001 for a $1,496,000.00 contract with Black and Veatch Corporation for the design of the Platte County Water Transmission Main; and

 

WHEREAS, the City approved two prior amendments for changes to the scope of services in the design professional work for the Platte County Water Transmission Main project; and

 

WHEREAS, a $35,000.00 Amendment 3 contract with Black and Veatch Corporation, for Contract No. 7704, is needed to authorize additional funds related to design professional services for the preparation of construction drawings and specifications to add telemetry equipment at the interconnection points for the Platte County Water Transmission Main; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Water Services is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of Kansas City, a $35,000.00 Amendment 3 to Contract No. 7704, Platte County Water Transmission Main from funds previously appropriated in Account No. AL-8065-807219-B, Platte County T/M.

 

Section 2. That upon completion of the final costs of this contract, the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to return the unexpended portion of this appropriation to the Unappropriated Fund Balance from which it was derived.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
