RESOLUTION NO. 170909

 

Approving the preparation and submission of an application to the United States Environmental Protection Agency for a Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund Coalition Grant in the amount of $1,000,000.00; authorizing the City Manager to enter into a coalition with Jackson County, Missouri and the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority; authorizing the City Manager to execute a Memorandum of Agreement among the coalition members establishing the terms of the activities; and authorizing the City Manager to execute and submit the Grant application.

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the application and submittal of a Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund Coalition Grant in the amount of $1,000,000.00 (the “Grant”) to capitalize a revolving loan fund for the cleanup of hazardous waste and petroleum brownfield sites located in Kansas City and Jackson County, Missouri, is hereby authorized and approved. A copy of the grant submittal, in substantial form, is on file in the office of the Director of City Development.

 

Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized to enter the City into a coalition with Jackson County, Missouri (the “County”) and the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (“KCATA”) and to submit the Grant application as the Lead Agency on behalf of the coalition.

 

Section 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a Memorandum of Agreement between the City, the County and KCATA establishing the terms of the coalition activities.

 

Section 4. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute and submit the application for the Grant to the Environmental Protection Agency.
