ORDINANCE NO. 960459

 

Authorizing the Director of Public Works to enter into the Seventy-Ninth Supplemental Federal Aid Urban Program Agreement with the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission relating to the fracture critical inspections as part of the Non-State Bridge Program and recognizing an emergency.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to enter into and execute on behalf of the City, an agreement between the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission and the City of Kansas City, a municipal corporation of the State of Missouri, relating to the fracture critical inspections as part of the Non-State Bridge Program, Project No. 5407. The agreement shall be essentially in the form which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.

 

Section 2. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to expend the sum of $28,729.00 from funds heretofore appropriated to Account No. 97-309-089-7702-T as and for consideration in the aforesaid agreement.

 

Section 3. That since this ordinance provides for the current expenses of the City, this ordinance is recognized to be an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter and shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
