ORDINANCE NO. 190476

 

Authorizing an agreement in the amount of $540,100.00 with Bartlett & West, Inc. for design services in the inspection of various sidewalks generally between North City Limits and 20th Street; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

 

WHEREAS on August 10, 2017, the Council expressed support in a data-driven systematic sidewalk program to prioritize sidewalk inspections and repair through Committee Substitute for Resolution 170516; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY

 

Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Bartlett & West, Inc. in the amount of $540,100.00 for design services in the inspection of various sidewalks, generally between North City Limits and 20th Street from funds previously appropriated to account AL-3520-898077-B-89022011. A copy of the contract is on file in the office of the Director of Public Works.

 

Section 2. That the Director of Public Works is hereby designated requisitioning authority for Account Nos. AL-3520-898077.

 

Section 3. That this ordinance, relating to the design, repair, maintenance or construction of a public improvement, is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(D) of the City Charter and shall take effect in accordance with Section 503, City Charter.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumber, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
