RESOLUTION NO. 051204
Determining
the compliance of the Summit Redevelopment Corporation for Phase One of the
Hampton Inn & Suites project located at the southwest corner of 46th Street and Summit Street and authorizing issuance of a Certificate of Completion for
the project of the Summit 353 Redevelopment Corporation. (497-S-1)
WHEREAS, the
City Council passed Ordinance No. 970074 on January 23, 1997, which approved
the application and the development plan submitted by the Summit Redevelopment
Corporation for the redevelopment of that area generally located at the southwest corner of 46th Street and Summit Street;
and
WHEREAS, Summit
Redevelopment Corporation has requested a Certificate of Completion for the
project pursuant to Section 74-17(d) of the Code of Ordinances; and
WHEREAS, the
project proposed the new construction of a 6 to 10 story hotel containing
between 140 to 320 rooms and a parking structure containing between 140 and 230
spaces; and
WHEREAS, Richard
D. Kiss, supervising architect, has certified that the improvements were
completed in compliance with the approved 353 plan; and
WHEREAS, on
September 6, 2005, the City Plan Commission reviewed the development plan and
determined that the construction proposed in the development plan for the
project of the Hampton Inn & Suites Building 353 Redevelopment Project
occurred and recommended that the City Council authorize the issuance of a
Certificate of Full Completion to Summit Redevelopment Corporation for the
project; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED
BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section A. That
the Council finds and determines that the project of the Hampton Inn &
Suites 353 Redevelopment Project has been completed and that the construction
is in compliance with the development plan.
Section B. That
the Council hereby authorizes the Director of the Department of City
Development to issue a Certificate of Full Completion to Summit Redevelopment
Corporation pursuant to the terms and conditions of the development plan and
redevelopment contract and pursuant to Section 74-17(d), Code of Ordinances of
the City of Kansas City, Missouri, for Phase One of the Hampton Inn &
Suites 353 Redevelopment Project.
