and directing the City Manager to implement the recommendations of the study.
the Kansas City International Airport Master Plan adopted in 2008 (“Master
Plan”) forecasts aviation activity and recommendations for airport development
and operational/land use management programs to meet the needs of airport users
and the traveling public for twenty years; and
the Master Plan identified a new passenger terminal location south of Runway 9‐27 on the southern
portion of KCI; and
the City entered into a contract funded by the FAA with Landrum and Brown, Inc.
for New Terminal Advance Planning to identify the new passenger terminal
location and operational requirements; and
the New Terminal Advance Planning study has identified the optimum site for the
new terminal to be the site of the existing KCI Terminal A based on operational
and economic feasibility; NOW, THEREFORE,
IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
the City Council hereby endorses and adopts the New Terminal Advance Planning
study as an amendment to the 2008 Airport Master Plan and directs the City
Manager to implement the recommendations of the study.
