COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 060872

Approving a $4,164,444.89 contract with Ace Pipe Cleaning, Inc. for Contract No. 810, Ruskin Heights Sewer Rehabilitation; reducing appropriations in the amount of $4,581,000.00 in the Wastewater Series 2006 A Fund; appropriating $4,581,000.00 in the Wastewater Series 2006A Fund; designating requisitioning authority; authorizing the Director of Water Services to expend $4,802,989.89 for the project; and authorizing the Director of Finance to return unexpended appropriations to the appropriate account.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Water Services Department is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of Kansas City, Contract No. 810, in the amount of $4,164,444.89 with Ace Pipe Cleaning, Inc. to rehabilitate and replace existing sewers and rehabilitate manholes, together with all appurtenances thereto, all in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. A copy of this contract is on file in the office of the Director of Water Services.

Section 2. That the appropriation in the following account of the Wastewater Series 2006A Fund is hereby reduced by the following amount:

Section 3. That the sum of $4,581,000.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Wastewater Series 2006A Fund to the following account in the Wastewater Series 2006A Fund:

Section 4. That the Director of Water Services is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for Account No. AL-8182-808086.

Section 5. That the Director of Water Services is further authorized to expend up to the sum of $4,802,989.89, including contingencies and engineering services, from funds appropriated above, to satisfy the cost of this contract.

Section 6. That upon completion of the final costs of this contract, the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to return the unexpended portion of this appropriation to the Unappropriated Fund Balance from which it was derived.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
