RESOLUTION NO. 140366

 

Amending the Main Street Corridor Plan for an approximately 0.85 acre tract of land generally located at 3720 and 3728 Gillham Road by changing the recommended land use on the Future Land Use Map from single family residential to medium density residential. (581-S-9).

 

WHEREAS, the Council adopted the Main Street Corridor Plan through the passage of Resolution No. 021500, passed January 16, 2003, and last amended by Resolution No. 140118 on February 27, 2014, as a guide for the future development and public investment within the area bounded by Broadway Boulevard on the west, Kansas City Terminal Railroad Tracks on the north, Gillham Road on the east, and Volker Boulevard on the south; and

 

WHEREAS, an application was submitted by Mary Cyr, Cyr Architecture, to amend the Future Land Use Map of the Main Street Corridor Plan as it affects a 0.85 acre tract of land area generally located at 3720 and 3728 Gillham Road, by changing the recommended land use from single family residential to medium density residential in order to permit a proposed rezoning; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission considered the amendment to the Future Land Use Map of the Main Street Corridor Plan on April 15, 2014; and

 

WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did on April 15, 2014, recommend approval of the proposed amendment to the Future Land Use Map of the Main Street Corridor Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That the Main Street Corridor Plan is hereby amended as to the Future Land Use Map for an approximately 0.85 acre tract of land generally located at 3720 and 3728 Gillham Road by changing the recommended land use from single family residential to medium density residential. A copy of the Future Land Use Map of the Main Street Corridor Plan is attached hereto as Exhibit A.

 

Section B. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed area plan amendment hereinabove, all public notices have been given and hearings have been held as required by law.
