ORDINANCE NO. 061117
Accepting and approving a
one-year $4,000.00 grant award from the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services to provide funding to more clearly analyze and identify the factors
that contribute to the high rate of Infant Mortality in Kansas City, Missouri
and produce a report on those findings; establishing revenue in the amount of
$4,000.00 in the Governmental Grants Fund and increasing appropriations in the
amount $4,000.00 in the Governmental Grants Fund.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That
a contract between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its
Director of Health, and the U.S. of Health and Human Services, acting through
its Director of Administration, whereby an analysis of factors contributing to
the high rate of infant mortality in Kansas City will be conducted and a report
created on those findings for the period beginning August 1, 2006 through July 31, 2007, for an amount not to exceed $4,000.00, is hereby accepted and
approved. A copy of the contract, in substantial form, is attached hereto and
made a part hereof by reference.
Section 2. That
the revenue in the following account of the Governmental Grants Fund is hereby
established in the following amount:
07-2480-500001-472010 Infant
Mortality Analysis $4,000.00
Section 3. That
appropriations in the following accounts of the Governmental Grants Fund are
hereby increased in the following amounts:
07-2480-505012-A Infant
Mortality Analysis $3,400.00
07-2480-505012-B Infant
Mortality Analysis 400.00
07-2480-505012-C Infant
Mortality Analysis 200.00
TOTAL $4,000.00
Section 4. That
the Director of Health is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for
Account No. 07-2480-505012.

there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation
to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance,
otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which
