ORDINANCE NO. 100242
Authorizing acceptance of funds
allocated by the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance,
Office of Justice Programs, FY 2008-2009 Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG)
in the amount of $99,731.00; appropriating and estimating revenue in the amount
of $99,731.00 in the Justice Assistance Grant accounts of the Justice
Assistance Grant Fund; designating requisitioning authority; and authorizing
the Acting Director of Neighborhood and Community Services to execute an
intergovernmental agreement with Jackson County, Missouri, regarding the use of
these funds.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF
KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the
Mayor and Council do acknowledge and accept the funds allocated by the U.S.
Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, from the 2008 Justice
Assistance Grant in the amount of $99,731.00.
Section 2. That
the revenue in the following account of the 2008 Justice Assistance Grant is
hereby estimated in the following amount:
10-2410-570001-476045 Justice
Assistance Grant $99,731.00
Section 3. That
the appropriations in the following accounts of the Justice Assistance Grant are
increased by the following amount:
10-2410-575301-A-G57JAG09 Justice
Assistance Grant $65,000.00
10-2410-575301-B-G57JAG09 Justice
Assistance Grant 34,731.00
TOTAL $99,731.00
Section 4. That
the Acting Director of Neighborhood and Community Services is hereby designated
as requisitioning authority for Account No. 10-2410-575301.
Section 5. That
the Acting Director of Neighborhood and Community Services is authorized to
execute the intergovernmental agreement with Jackson County Prosecutor’s
Office, Jackson County, Missouri, in the amount of $99,731.00 in accordance
with the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of
Justice Programs requirements for the use of these grant funds. The
intergovernmental agreement is approved, in substantial form, as that on file
with the City Clerk.

I hereby certify
that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the
appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash
balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund
from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby
incurred.
