RESOLUTION NO. 080755

 

Continued management of the Information Technology Collaboration Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Kansas City, Missouri and the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department.

 

WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City, Missouri and the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department have capitalized on a number of technology sharing opportunities in order to reduce duplication of effort and expense; and

 

WHEREAS, the following projects are being collaborated on:

 

-         Computer Aided Dispatch System (CAD)

-         Corrections Management System (CMS)

-         Shared Software Purchases for Virus Protection and Intrusion Detection Applications

-         Shared resources for Overall Network Security

-         Shared Governance Structure (Public Safety Information System) for Implemented CAD and CMS Systems; and

-         Intrusion Detection Monitoring

 

WHEREAS, defined organization roles by both organizations have been established and advisory committees are being formed for proper maintenance and oversight of this memorandum of understanding and all related functions; and

 

WHEREAS, defined scope of services, requirements and service level expectations are listed in detail for each type of technology service, hardware or software by both the City of Kansas City, Missouri and the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the City Manager, Wayne A. Cauthen, and the Chief of Police, Jim Corwin, both agreed by signing the Information Technology Collaboration Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Kansas City, Missouri and the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department that there is a definite need for this partnership to be successful.

 

Section 2. That the Chief Information Officer, Ivan Drinks, Sr., and Deputy Chief, Nick Nichols, are responsible for the continued management of this Memorandum of Understanding and have a vested interest in seeing to its sustained success.
