RESOLUTION NO. 190312

 

Approving an amendment to the Red Bridge Area Plan by amending the proposed Land Use Plan and Map from mixed-use neighborhood and residential low to mixed-use neighborhood for an area of approximately 3.83 acres generally located at 12309 State Line Road, northeast of the intersection of W. 124th Street and State Line Road. (CD-CPC-2019-00010).

 

WHEREAS, on March 2, 2017, the City Council by Resolution No. 170125 adopted the Red Bridge Area Plan as a guide for development and redevelopment of that area generally bordered by 85th Street and the Trolley Track Trail Corridor on the north, the city limits of Kansas City, Missouri on the west, Blue Ridge Boulevard on the south and U.S. Route 71/I-49 on the east; and

 

WHEREAS, after further review, it has been deemed appropriate to amend the Red Bridge Area Plan and Map as it affects that area of approximately a 3.83 acres generally located at 12309 State Line Road, northeast of the intersection of W. 124th Street and State Line Road, by changing the recommended land use from mixed-use neighborhood and residential low to mixed-use neighborhood; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission considered such amendment to the Proposed Land Use Plan and Map on March 5, 2019; and

 

WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did on March 5, 2019, recommend approval of the proposed amendment to the Red Bridge Area Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That the Red Bridge Area Plan is hereby amended as to the Proposed Land Use Plan and Map for that area of approximately 3.83 acres generally located at 12309 State Line Road, northeast of the intersection of W. 124th Street and State Line Road, by changing the recommended land use from mixed-use neighborhood and residential low to mixed-use neighborhood.

 

Section B. That the amendment to the Red Bridge Area Plan is consistent and complies with the FOCUS Kansas City Plan adopted on October 30, 1997, by Committee Substitute for Resolution No. 971268, and is adopted as a supplement to the FOCUS Kansas City Plan.

 

Section C. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed amendment hereinabove, all public notices and hearings required by the Zoning Ordinance have been given and had.
