ORDINANCE NO. 100638
Accepting and
approving a grant to the City of $68,922.00 from the United States Department
of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program; estimating
revenue in the amount of $68,922.00 in the Fire Sales Tax Fund; appropriating
it to the USFA AFG Grant account in the Fire Sales Tax Fund; designating
requisitioning authority; and recognizing an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That
the Fire Chief is authorized to accept a grant from the United States
Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG)
program in the amount of $68,922.00 for a fire safety outreach program to be
conducted in conjunction with the Housing Authority of Kansas City.
Section. 2.
That the revenue in the following account of the Fire Sales Tax Fund is
estimated in the following amount:
11-2300-230001-478396 USFA
AFG Grant $68,922.00
Section 3. That
the sum of $68,922.00 is appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of
the Fire Sales Tax Fund to the following account in the Fire Sales Tax Fund:
11-2300-235006-B USFA
AFG Grant $68,922.00
Section 4. That
the Fire Chief is designated as requisitioning authority for Account No
11-2300-235006.
Section 5. That
this ordinance is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of
Section 503 of the City Charter in that it appropriates money and shall take
effect in accordance with that section.

there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation
to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance,
otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which
