COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 960495

 

Authorizing a one year contract with the Metropolitan Ambulance Services Trust to provide the KCI Airport with a dedicated ambulance and services; appropriating the sum of $390,014.00 in various accounts to pay for such service; and recognizing an emergency.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That an agreement between Kansas City, Missouri Health Department, acting through its Director of Health, and the Metropolitan Ambulance Services Trust (MAST), acting through its Executive Director, whereby MAST agrees to provide the Kansas City International Airport with a dedicated ambulance and services for a one year period beginning May 1, 1996 through April 30, 1997. A copy of the agreement, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 2. That the sum of $390,014.00 to be paid to MAST during the one year period, from funds provided in the 1996-97 budget, Ordinance No. 960338 in the following accounts be approved:

 

97-100-051-2141-B MAST-KCI Ambulance Service $137,244.00 97-821-062-2310-B KCI Airport Safety 252,770.00 TOTAL $390,014.00

 

Section 3. That this ordinance, making provisions for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of the public heath, is hereby recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
