ORDINANCE NO. 970549

 

Authorizing a one year $3,702,545.00 agreement with Children's Mercy Hospital to provide health care services to indigent young citizens and recognizing an emergency.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That an agreement between the City, acting through its Director of Health, and Children's Mercy Hospital (CMH), a Missouri not-for-profit corporation, whereby CMH will provide health care services to indigent young citizens for the period May 1, 1997 through April 30, 1998, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the agreement, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 2. That the sum of $3,702,545.00, to be paid to CMH during the one-year period, from funds provided in the 1997-98 Budget, Ordinance No. 970311, in Account No. 98-100-051-2120-B and 98-233-051-2120-F, is approved.

 

Section 3. That this ordinance, making provisions for the expenditure of funds in connection with preservation of the public health, is hereby recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
